Ride Overview

This is an all incusive 3 day mountain bike trip that takes place in the Willamette National Forest in a small town called Westfir, Oregon, headquarters for Trans Cascadia Excursions Guiding. The greater riding area is better known as OAKRIDGE! The town, known as the mountain-biking capital of the Pacific Northwest, sits at the western foot of the Cascades where hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails weave through the heart of the National Forest. Oakridge is one of only six cities in the world that was designated by IMBA as a gold-level Ride Center and is one of our favorite places to ride in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout our three days here, we will be riding EVERYTHING open and running. We will be shuttling to the top of our favorite rides and decending to the bottom where our shuttle will wait, from 2k – 3k of decending per run! How many should we do today? On top of the great riding, our friends from Schwalbe will be in town hosting this sweet adventure. Meals will be prepared for us each day at our home overlooking Hills Creek Reservoir, a remote and unique setting to post up at while you are in town. We will dial in a menu to the liking of the group and an opportuntiy to sit down each day and share our stories from the day. Rest and Repeat for 3 days. Who’s in?!

Welcome to The Lodge at Hills Creek; nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and tucked into the Willamette Forest, it is the ideal setting and accommodations for a vacation escape. Set on five acres, surrounded by mountains, trees, and trails, and on the reservoir.

FOOD AND DRINKS

We take our food serously and want to provide you with a tailored food experience throughout your trip. Carnivorous , Vegetarian and Vegan menus are available. Each morning you’ll wake up to a hot or cold breakfast of your choice. Lunch and Snacks are prepared for you to take on your ride each day. After a good day of riding the bike, we’ll sit down by the table to eat a well prepared meal with each other. The menu also includes beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to quench your thirst. About the Oakridge and Westfir Area Riding

We are headquartered in Westfir, Oregon. A small town of 300 tucked into a corner of the Willamette National Forest on the southern tail of the Cascade Mountain Range. This forest, at one point, was the most productive logging forest in the world, pumping out millions of board feet annually, and now, a town centered around nature and outdoor recreation. We love this place becuase of the incredibly vast trail network, high quality mountain biking, and unique PNW landscape filled with Loam, Duff, pristine lakes and rivers. And when you pair this with a sweet shuttle van that has access to a legacy of logging road infrastructure that allows us to drive to the top of mountains, we think this is one of the top destinations to ride your bike on this little ball we call EARTH.
