Trip Questions

Shuttle Questions

Where do I catch the shuttle?

Each shuttle has a different pickup location. Once your shuttle is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the exact meet-up spot and details.

Can I add another shuttle?

Of course! If you’re ready for another run, just ask your driver or give us a call—we’ll get you booked on the next available shuttle.

Can I purchase same day?

Yes, you can! If you’re in the area and looking to hop on a shuttle, give us a call. However, same-day bookings are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email. Please note that just because a shuttle is on the schedule doesn’t guarantee it will run.

Can I pay cash on the shuttle?

We recommend booking ahead of time through XOLA on our website, as it helps us keep everything organized and ensures a smoother experience for everyone. While we can sometimes make exceptions for cash or VENMO payments, it’s best to give us a call in advance so we can sort out the details.

Can I purchase a Season Shuttle Pass?

Yes! We offer Season Shuttle Passes for $499 per person, per season, available under the ‘Oakridge Mountain Bike Shuttles’ page on our website. Passes are valid for any of our Oakridge shuttles running from May 1 to November 1, but please note that blackout dates apply. As a season pass holder, it’s important to understand that our shuttles don’t always go out—we require a minimum of two riders for a shuttle to run.

Do I need to purchase a shuttle pass or can I just show up?

We highly recommend booking in advance! If you show up at a pickup location without a reservation, the shuttle may be full, not running at that time, or reserved for a private group. Sometimes our shuttles don’t go out at all if no one has booked. It’s best to reserve your spot ahead of time or give us a call to check availability for the day.

Once I book am I guaranteed a shuttle?

No, booking a shuttle online does not guarantee your spot until you receive a confirmation email from us. It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 day for us to confirm or deny a shuttle. If you need an answer sooner, give us a call, and we’ll get you sorted out as quickly as possible.

Do I need to sign a waiver for each shuttle I book?

No, you only need to sign one waiver for yourself, which covers all your shuttles. If you’re booking for a group, you can send the waiver document to each rider in your party to sign. Every rider must have a signed waiver before getting on the shuttle.

Do I tip my driver?

Our drivers love what they do and work hard during our short season. If you had a great experience, tipping is always appreciated! It’s a great way to show your appreciation, and leaving a Google review also helps small businesses like ours grow. Thanks for the support!

What is a trip?

Trans Cascadia Excursions offers 1-day trips, along with fully customized multi day mountain bike adventures tailored to your needs. We operate in Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, and Bellingham, as well as Oregon’s Willamette National Forest.

Some trips are designed for experienced riders, while others are great for those newer to mountain biking. Each trip includes detailed descriptions to help you find the right fit. Whether you’re looking for a rugged, primitive experience or want to elevate your trip with a private cook and bartender, we can craft the perfect adventure for you!

What should I bring?

Each trip varies by length, location, and time of year, so be sure to check the Packing List under your specific trip details. However, as a baseline for the Pacific Northwest, we recommend always packing the following essentials:

  • Rain Jacket
  • Rain Pants
  • Waterproof Boots/Covers
  • Rain Gloves

These items will help keep you prepared for the ever-changing weather on your adventure.

How fit do I need to be?

Fitness requirements vary by trip, but most of our adventures range from intermediate to advanced. Riders should be comfortable navigating different terrain, including varied soil conditions, small rocks, roots, and changes in steepness. Climbing is involved in most of our trips, so a good level of endurance and fitness will enhance your experience.

If you have any concerns about fitness or skill level, we highly recommend reaching out before booking so we can help you find the right trip for your experience and ability.

What are the accommodations like?

It all depends on the experience you and your group want to have.  We offer everything from luxurious stays at beautiful rental properties with comfy beds to primitive camping with a two-person MSR tent and a Thermarest camping pad.  Whether you’re looking for a high-end retreat or a rugged backcountry adventure, we can customize the accommodations to match your ideal trip.

Can I bring my own vehicle?

If you’re considering bringing your own vehicle, please inquire with us so we can provide the best guidance for your trip.

What is your cancelation policy?

For cancellations prior to 60 days before departure, a $50 fee per person is retained and the remainder of your trip cost is refunded. For cancellations 60-31 days before departure, 50% of your trip fees are refunded. For cancellations 30 days or less before departure, no refunds. Trans Cascadia Excursions must adhere to their cancellation policy, no exceptions. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance to protect your investment, we recommend World Nomads. Trans Cascadia Excursions reserves the right to cancel any trip. Full refunds will be made in these instances. Trans Cascadia Excursions is not responsible for non-refundable airfare.

Is the trip guaranteed to run?

For our one-day trips, we require a minimum of six riders for the trip to go out. If we don’t meet the minimum, the trip may be rescheduled or canceled.

For private trips, we guarantee they will run regardless of your group size. If you’re unsure about a trip’s status, feel free to reach out to us for more details.

What will the food be like? Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Food is provided only on our multi-day and custom trips. We offer carnivorous, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus, ensuring everyone is well-fed and energized for the ride.

Each morning, you’ll wake up to a hot or cold breakfast of your choice. Lunch and snacks are prepared for you to take on your ride each day. After a full day on the bike, we’ll gather around the table for a well-prepared meal, complete with beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages to quench your thirst.

For private trips, we offer full customization—you can choose to have meals and beverages fully provided, or opt to handle your own food and drinks. If you’d like us to take care of everything, we’re happy to do so, but if you prefer to bring your own, that works too!

We want to get this just right—let us know your dietary needs and preferences, and we’ll make it happen!

Should I purchase trip insurance?

Yes! We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance before your adventure with us. Trans Cascadia Excursions has partnered with World Nomads to offer travel insurance that helps protect your trip.

While we do our best to provide an incredible experience, we do not take responsibility for trip cancellations due to fire, smoke, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. It’s important that guests have trip insurance in place to ensure a worry-free vacation, knowing they’re covered if plans need to change.
