Ride Description

This is a great ride that is found deep into the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest just outside of Twisp, Washington.  This ride is technically in the Sawtooth Backcountry, a recreation area coveted by many.  We’ll begin our day at Crater Creek Parking Lot, a gentle rolling climb that eventually turns a little steeper and technical, but rideable the entire way.  We have a solid 2 hours of saddle time to get to our water filter spot and a nice break by ice cold creeks.  We’ll grab a little food and relax as we enjoy the meadow scenery around us.  We’re in a bowl and close to Cooney Lake, a beautiful high elevation lake.  Great for a mid ride swim!

We’ll saddle up and make our way down the upper Foggy Dew Creek Trail, a fun mile of descending before we hit our junction and elevator ride up to the Foggy Dew Ridge. We’ll quickly hop off our bikes and into walk mode, from here we have solid 45 minute hike and bike as we scrap our way up the ridge, through massive meadows, sometimes missing or lost trail, that open the horizon and opportunities to see just how far we’ve come and how far we’re headed.  We’ll eventually hit our high point on the ridge and now it’s time to cash that pay check you’ve been earning all day with a big climb up and a big descent all the way to the valley floor at the Foggy Dew Campground.   Along our ride down, we’ll descend a landscape peppered, in spots, with large boulders, meadows, tree covered sections with black dirt, and turns burmed by motos that provide a perfect pocket for your tires.  The Foggy Dew Ridge is Broken into 3 Descents, broken by small climbs in between.  Each unique in their own way.  Our final decent is the longest and most sustained, loose and fun, like skiing powder.  It’s a “Holy Shit” kind of a day.  If this sounds like your adventure, click the Book Now button and we’ll see you this summer!
