Ride Overview

We call this ride, Tres Frescas… a huge day of descending on what has been coined “THE BEST day of riding of my LIFE ” by Loris Vergier. We’ll be reliving a day of the 2018 and 2019 Trans-Cascadia MTB race, riding in the Mt. St. Helens Backcountry.

That morning, we’ll rendezvous in Randle Washington and pile into the TC Shuttle Van and head out to the backcountry where we’ll shuttle from the valley floor to the top of the ridgeline 3 times, accumulating a ton vertical each lap.  Each descent falls from the ridgeline in a different direction which provides a nice diversity of dirt and unique ridgeline views.

You spend a fair amount of time in the alpine on this ride, the views from up top are incredible.  Riding within the 1980 Mt St Helens Blast zone, you’ll still find remnants of the historic blast that blew 1,300’ off the top and absolutely desecrated the surrounding environment for decades.   We’re lucky to be riding here, as there is limited access to this area and a short window to ride.  On this ride, expect huge views of Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier and some of the best riding of your life!
